Eligibility for 2 Year Olds
Children of 2-year-old can also be eligible for free early education and childcare if the parent/carer get one of the following:
- If you are Income Support
- Receive Working Tax Credit 4-week run on (the payment you get when you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
- Receive Tax Credits and you have an annual income of under £16,190 before tax
- Are currently receiving income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- Are claiming income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Receiving Universal Credit
- Are receiving the guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
- Are receiving support through part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act
A child can also get free early education and childcare if any of the following apply:
- They are a looked after child by a local council eg Fostered
- They have a current Education Health and care Plan (EHCP) of Special Education Needs (SEN) or a statement
- They get Disability Living Allowance
- They have left care under a special guardianship order, child arrangements order or adoption order
